Childcare

Children and pets have been my passion since I was a kid. I gained a lot of my initial childcare experience helping care my younger cousins. When I turned 18, I got my CPR and first aid certification and started working for a company similar to this one which gave me familiarity with how to best handle events and sitting in hotels as well as at vacation rentals. I have taken classes in early childhood development and education at Santa Barbara City College. I have nannied for 4 families consistently over the past 7 years, taking care of children as young as premature twins up to a 7 year old girl.

Pets

Growing up, I had the opportunity to have a wide variety of pets. The normal cats and dogs to a tarantula, snakes, cockatiel, fish and even rats. I quickly learned the responsibilty of caring for animals. During the pandemic I started working at a ranch as well as volunteering at a few others. I gained experience with horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, goats, rabbits, and quail. If you are leaving town and want to know that your pets are in good hands, I am the person for you. I have the experience to notice when something is off or out of the ordinary and I am familiar with most of the local primary vets and emergency vets. I take care of your pets as if they are my own.

My background spans over 35 years of caring for children of all ages along with being a mom myself. I am also a local to Santa Barbara growing up in the area since I was 19, which includes going to Santa Barbara City College utilizing their Early Childhood Education classes and starting a family of my own. I strive to bring tenacity and professionalism to every interaction I have with the families. I am dedicated to providing nurturing care and engaging activities for children of all ages, with a focus on their individual needs, and I am passionate about fostering children's development through creative play.

You can count on me to provide dependable and responsible childcare, following your household rules and routines with utmost care. I am experienced in caring for infants along with toddlers, I am comfortable with feeding schedules, diaper changes, and soothing techniques to provide gentle and attentive care. CPR and First Aid certified, I am prepared to handle any emergency situation while providing a safe and secure environment for your children.

Savannah Hernandez

Childcare

I primarily started babysitting a few years ago, working for another company and gained an abundant amount of experience with all different ages of children, and quantities. Handling varying amounts of children in different environments with completely unpredictable hours taught me how to navigate situations where variables may change, and how to respond efficiently. I have studied developmental psychology and am still further expanding my knowledge through schooling. 

Pets

To speak plainly, I adore animals. I grew up with cats and dogs, and genuinely couldn’t imagine a universe where I wasn’t surrounded by animals of some sort. I was 6 when I first realized I had such a love for horses, and have been riding since I was 9. I had the opportunity to spend some time on a ranch full of chickens, pigs, horses, and even a mule. I learned so much about animals and day to day ranch life there, as well as managing crops such as corn and beans, and what that entailed. Seeing how much hard work people poured into their farms was truly inspiring; everything that I saw and encountered further cementing my affection for animals of all sorts.
